Do not dismiss resistance; instead, seek to understand its underlying causes and perspectives. Most people do not act with ill intent but from a specific viewpoint or concern. Empathy is crucial for uncovering these dimensions.

## Examples

When a senior figure vetoes modernization efforts, engage them directly to uncover their personal history and investment in the existing system, rather than assuming malice.
