Team Topologies Workshop with Luke and Andy

  • A workshop to teach participants about the key concepts from the book Team Topologies – and how to apply the Team Topologies modeling shapes to explore organization dynamics.
  • Using the Team Topologies shapes and diagramming principles, it is possible to create a series of snapshots of an organization at various points in time that help you to understand and reason behind how and why the teams within an organization communicate and interact.
  • This workshop provides an in-depth introduction to how to use Team Interaction Modeling (TIM) to effectively capture, annotate and discuss organization evolution within the content of your organization.
  • The battle-tested shapes are the fastest way to model and visualise different options for team responsibilities and interactions based on the ideas in the Team Topologies book.

 

 

Luke McManus

Luke is an Agile coach with over 20 years of experience in technology and delivery roles. Passionate about fostering collaboration and enabling business agility, he specializes in guiding teams and leaders to deliver exceptional products and services that delight customers.

With a background in customer service, Luke has a deep understanding of customer needs and is dedicated to ensuring teams build the right solutions. He is well-versed in Agile and DevOps methodologies, emphasizing their connection to both customer and employee happiness.

Luke excels in coaching remote and distributed teams, bridging the gap between strategy and execution. He brings a strong working knowledge of DevOps principles and practices to empower teams to deliver value efficiently.

In addition to his expertise in Agile and DevOps, Luke is a proponent of Design Thinking and Human-Centered Design methodologies. He enjoys leveraging innovative approaches like LEGO SeriousPLAY to facilitate creative problem-solving.

Luke's personal philosophy mirrors that of Team Topologies: making work more humane and effective for everyone. He believes in empowering smart people to focus on solving real problems for customers, free from organizational ambiguity and obstacles.

Outside of work, Luke enjoys spending time with his dog Tuesday, exploring nature, and cultivating native Australian plants. His favorite retreat is Aireys Inlet on the Great Ocean Road, where he can unwind and recharge by the beach.

Andy Spamer

Andy Spamer is an agile coach, delivery lead, and scrum master with over 20 years of experience in software engineering and technology delivery. He is passionate about helping organisations adopt agile methods and practices that optimise team interactions for fast flow and value delivery.

He is the founder of Agile Dimensions, a consultancy that has worked with global clients in the mining, oil & gas, finance, and government sectors.
