Leverage Aligned Goals for Direction

How do you steer a workshop back on track when discussions diverge from the intended outcome?

If a clear, aligned goal exists, use it as a reference point to guide the discussion. Periodically, 'zoom out' to remind participants of the shared objective and evaluate if the current path serves that goal.

Example

When the workshop started drifting towards detailed documentation, the facilitator could have referred back to the agreed-upon goal of 'rethinking the process' to prompt a course correction.
